2008-10-08    Insufficient information on the expected need can lead to a wrong rating of roads. In the course of the european harmonisation the German Federal Ministry of Transport want to have evaluated the impacts of the change of measurement methods within a research project. At this the mixture of the demanded tourist travel on the respective route section will be of relevance. With data from the longitudinal-based STRATA long-distance travel model such demand segements will be considered the first time in the methods for the determination of measurements of traffic volume. The project is led by Prof. Brilon of the Ruhr-University Bochum.
