2010-05-31 A city has
countless opportunities to save energy. This belief is the starting point for the competition "Energy-efficientCity" run by the Federal
Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), whose second project phase lasts
until the end of June 2010. The
main question is which technologies and innovative services hold the biggest
savings potential.
Schwäbisch
Gmünd with its approximately 60,000 inhabitants is one of 15 cities which
are applying for further government aid to implement the energy-saving measures in
this competition.
The
project "Energy-efficientCity Schwäbisch Gmünd 2020” aims a more efficient
use of energy on all levels and reduction of energy
consumption by 40 percent by 2020. The traffic system, real estate portfolio and economic processes are the key system
parameters for the user-oriented approach.
STRATA
experts contribute their experiences in the field of energy-efficient mobility as well as the conception and realization of data ascertainment to the project.

STRATA-Team has grown again
2009-05-01 From the beginning of May 2009 the STRATA team is supported by Mrs. Dipl.-Ing. Sabine Michels. She works as a Projektmanager and is in charge of projects in the field of city and regional planning as well as in the fields of mobility surveys and local city traffic. We are looking forward to a successful collaboration.
Mrs. Michels studied civil engineering at the University of Karlsruhe with focus on regional planning and infrastructure. Before she came to STRATA she was scientific assistant at the Institute for Urban and Regional Planning of the University of Karlsruhe. She took part in the project Raum+ and supported the development of a methodology for evaluating the potential of settlement areas.
